What it really costs to sell fashion on a marketplace
The commission each platform advertises is rarely what you end up paying: monthly fees, listing fees, near-mandatory advertising or your own logistics all add up. Here is the comparison of what each one charges for fashion and what Werop charges.
Werop in three figures
Commission per sale
Plus VAT, on the garment price. Shipping pays no commission: the shop only contributes a small share of its cost (€0.26 on a domestic shipment).
Monthly fee
Keeping your catalogue open costs nothing if you don't sell one month.

Figures for the fashion category in Spain, checked on 27 September 2026 on each platform's pages; when a marketplace does not publish a figure we say so, and figures that only appear in the press are marked as such. They may change, and may differ in other countries. Requirements, returns and payouts for each, with their sources, in the big fashion marketplaces compared. Werop's commission is the same in the eight countries where it accepts shops (Spain, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Belgium, Austria and Portugal). An example with numbers
A shop in Spain sells a garment for €40 (price including VAT, set by the shop).
On Werop
- 12% commission: €4.80, plus €1.01 of VAT (21%), which you can deduct if you are under the standard VAT scheme.
- Shipping contribution: €0.26 (plus €0.05 of VAT). It is the gap between the €4.95 the shopper pays and what the parcel costs; this is how shipping costs work.
- You receive in your Stripe account: €33.88. The commission, the contribution and their VAT are deducted from the payment, and each order in your dashboard shows the breakdown.
- The €40 is the retail price: it includes €6.94 of VAT (21%), which you declare and pay yourself; Werop does not withhold it. Your sale excluding VAT is €33.06 and, once the VAT is paid, you keep €26.94. If you sell to another EU country applying its VAT (One-Stop Shop), the VAT included changes: at France's 20% it is €6.67.
- If your shop is in another EU country and your EU VAT number is verified, the commission and the contribution carry no VAT (reverse charge): you receive €34.94 and declare the VAT in your country.
- No fee, even if you sell nothing else that month.
On a marketplace at 20% with a €39/month fee
- Commission: €8, plus VAT.
- With 10 sales a month, the fee adds another €3.90 per garment.
- You receive about €28, before advertising.
